Spring is here!

Kile loves playtime in the backyard!

We got a sandbox at a garage sale that proved a wise purchase!

Grass...yummy.

Jeff was being funny and typed up this sign long ago that says "I play for tips." Emma made a handwritten sign for him that says "My Dad wrcks for tipes!" How cute is that!!???

Kile likes to be pushed on his little lion and, fortunately, the second smallest member of our family is up to the task because it hurts mommy's back! He is only about 10 months in this picture...I'm doing some catch-up blogging!

THE BIRTHDAY BOY!!!

Kile turned one year old on July 11th. We were in Lincoln, Kansas, where Jeff was giving a talk. He was actually born on the day that Susanna, the pioneer mother featured in Jeff's first book, died during the Battle of Summit Springs. Nearly 100 people sang "Happy Birthday" to Kile after the talk, and he smiled and clapped his hands (that's his new thing whenever anyone sings). It was a wonderful day.

We stopped to get a bite to eat in Hays, Kansas, and Kile decided after being restrained in the carseat for so long to camp out underneath the highchair. His shirt aptly says "Mr. Mischief."

Daddy loves to make Kile giggle!

Kile better get used to making his own fun at fthe many orts of the west! This building used to be officer's quarters at Fort Harker.

Somebody got into the playing cards in the kitchen. I think he knows he's been caught!

Around our home in Roxborough...

Konnor's newfound passion...BASKETBALL! I told him I'd take an action shot and post it on the blog. He had a blast at b-ball camp.

Emma thought it would be funny to join Kile in the baby swings since she is so skinny and could fit. Our home is located behind the grove of trees in the back of the picture. There is actually a long, steep hill right behind these swings on which sledding is absolutely a BLAST!

This is our first go at filling the pool this summer. It was cold but the kids had fun.

Here is Konnor and Emma posing in front of our house. Emma loves to ride her scooter while Konnor plays basketball. The cul-de-sac provides the kids much entertainment when the neighbor kids come out to play...and I don't have to worry as much about traffic! We love our cul-de-sac!

New York City & Newport

Kile absolutely loves the water and so does Daddy.

We took a break in Central park to get something to drink and relax after a long walk and day at the Natural History Museum.

Konnor & Emma both enjoyed the pool at the hotel in Newport.

This is on the ferry to Ellis Island; we passed the Statue of Liberty on the way.
